Move to Include: Intelligent Lives WEBINAR
Mon, 07/20/2020 - 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Join The WORLD Channel for the screening of segments of the acclaimed documentary Intelligent Lives.
July marks the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life. To commemorate this law, WORLD Channel is joining Move to Include, an initiative that uses the power of public media to inform and transform attitudes and behavior about inclusion. Move to Include was founded by WXXI Public Media and the Golisano Foundation and expanded with a grant by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Join WORLD Monday, July 20 at 7 p.m. EST on ZOOM for the screening of segments of the acclaimed documentary Intelligent Lives, and a lively conversation with filmmaker Dan Habib, Executive Producers Chris Cooper and Marianne Leone Cooper, Patricia Lampron from the Boston Public Schools, Steve and Naomie Monplaisir, and Naieer Shaheed. Monday, July 20 at 7 p.m. EST on ZOOM.

Intelligent Lives follows three young adults with intellectual disabilities: Micah, Naieer, and Naomie, who, with the support of family, educators, and colleagues, work toward a future marked with increased inclusion and independence. Narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Chris Cooper.
This event is part of Move to Include, a partnership between WXXI and the Golisano Foundation designed to promote inclusion for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. This Move to Include model expands nationally this year to five additional communities with support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a private corporation funded by the American people.
