WXXI brings you more from BBC News to fill the void left by the Nightly Business Report.

At the end of December the Nightly Business Report signed off after a 40-year run. The series was created in 1979 and produced through March 2013 under the direction of Linda O’Bryon, WPBT’s news director at the time, with Paul Kangas as the original anchor. In 2013, CNBC bought the series. Unfortunately, CNBC could no longer sustain the series financially.

WXXI-TV has filled the 6:30 p.m. time slot with BBC World News Outside Source (Monday through Thursday) and BBC World News Today (Fridays).

BBC World News Outside Source airs Monday through Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV.
Distinctions between TV and online are blurred on Outside Source, as the latest technology allows the program to combine reporting, collation and first-hand experiences. Hosted by Ross Atkins, this news program looks like no other, and whose evolutionary style of story-telling is rooted in the online news experience.

BBC World News Today airs Fridays at 6:30 p.m. WXXI-TV.
This series provides an in-depth daily coverage of the news with a focus on Europe, Middle East and Africa.
