WXXI is celebrating the 40th season of This Old House with a very special event featuring host Kevin O'Connor and carpenter Nathan Gilbert.

America’s leading home improvement series turns 40 and WXXI is celebrating by bringing This Old House's host Kevin O'Connor and newest tradesman carpenter Nathan Gilbert to the Hochstein School on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. The two will offer a behind-the-scenes look into 40 years of home-improvement, renovations, remodels and more. They will also share vintage clips, favorite moments, and renovations from the series that inspired an entire genre of television programming.

This Old House airs Sundays at 4 p.m. on WXXI-TV and Mondays and Fridays at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. on WXXI-CREATE.

About Kevin O'Connor:
Nominated for an "Outstanding Service Show Host" Emmy Award in his debut season, Kevin O'Connor has been appearing as host of the Emmy Award-winning series, This Old House, and the Emmy-nominated series, Ask This Old House, since 2003. He also serves on the editorial board of This Old House magazine, published by This Old House, LLC, and has hosted shows for the DIY network and The History Channel's H2. In September 2011 Kevin published his first book, The Best Homes of This Old House.

About Nathan Gilbert:
Nathan Gilbert is the newest member of the team, serving as Carpenter on Ask This Old House. Nathan was selected as one of three in the first class of Generation NEXT apprentices and spent the summer of 2017 working alongside the TOH team on the Newton Generation NEXT project. During his time as an apprentice, Nathan helped shine a spotlight on the skilled trades gap in the construction industry in high profile ways--speaking on Capitol Hill before senators and congressmen and appearing at the opening ceremony of the International Builder’s Show in 2018.
