The Limits of My World

An autistic coming of age story exploring what it means to be a nonverbal person in a neurotypical society.
WXXI and the Golisano Foundation present The Limits of My World at The Little Theatre (L5) on Monday, November 12 at 6pm, part of its Move to Include initiative. The event is free and open to the public. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director, Heather Cassano, via Skype.
The Limits of My World follows a nonverbal young man's transition from the school system into adulthood. Brian has autism and faces the daily challenges of adjusting to his new life. Filmed from the intimate perspective of his older sister Heather, this documentary seeks to understand Brian's personality beneath his disability. The Limits of My World is an autistic coming of age story, exploring what it means to be a nonverbal person in a neurotypical society.
Move to Include is a partnership between WXXI and the Golisano Foundation designed to promote inclusion for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Through programming and special events, WXXI and the Golisano Foundation look to build a more inclusive community by inspiring and motivating people to embrace different abilities and include all people in every aspect of community life.
