Join WXXI at The Hochstein School for an afternoon with renowned, Emmy-winning TV Host, restaurateur, chef, and author Lidia Bastianich. 

On Sunday, September 30 at 2 p.m. Lidia Bastianich joins WXXI’s Evan Dawson at The Hochstein School (50 N. Plymouth Ave., Rochester) to talk about her recently published memoir, My American Dream. She'll also discuss her perspectives on food, farming, and what she has learned as she has traveled around the country for her long-running PBS special, Lidia Celebrates America. The event will also highlight the work Lidia and WXXI have been doing with veterans as we welcome members of our local veterans community on stage to join Evan and Lidia for a discussion on how food and farming can help build stronger community connections.

More about Lidia:
Lidia Bastianich is one of the best-loved chefs on television, a best-selling cookbook author, restaurateur, and owner of a flourishing food and entertainment business. Lidia has married her two passions in life – her family and food, to create multiple culinary endeavors alongside her two children, Joseph and Tanya. 

She is the chef/owner of four acclaimed New York City restaurants ‐Felidia, Becco, Esca and Del Posto, as well as Lidia’s Pittsburgh and Lidia’s Kansas City along with her daughter Tanya.  Along with her son, Joe Bastianich, and Oscar Farinetti, the team opened Eataly, the largest artisanal Italian food and wine marketplace, in the Flatiron District of New York City and at the World Trade Center in New York City.  She also opened Eataly marketplaces in Chicago,  Sao Paolo, Boston, with two more locations scheduled to open  in  Los Angeles in 2017 and Toronto in 2018. She is the founder and president of Tavola Productions, an entertainment company that produces high quality broadcast productions. Lidia also has a line of pastas and all natural sauces called LIDIA’S.
