Celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service with a stunning visual portrait of the breathtaking landscapes of Utah’s “Mighty Five” national parks set to a score selected and recorded by Music Director Thierry Fischer and The Utah Symphony. Shot over the splendor of four seasons, National Parks Symphony - The Mighty Five captures iconic images, grand vistas, and secret locations in Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Arches National Parks. WXXI presents National Parks Symphony - The Mighty Five on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV.

The film grew out of the Utah Symphony’s “Mighty Five” tour in August 2014, during which the orchestra performed free outdoor concerts against the backdrop of Utah’s five national parks, both as a prelude to the centennial and as a celebration of the orchestra’s 75th anniversary season. National Parks Symphony - The Mighty Five has been nominated for nine Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards including Best Arts/Entertainment Program/Special.
