Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, is a debilitating mental disorder that can occur after a terrifying event. It was first brought to attention by returning war veterans, many of whom had been wounded in battle. Zachary Bell, former U.S. Marine, shares his story of horror in Afghanistan and his battle to regain his mental health after serving our country. Second Opinion: PTSD airs Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 6:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on WXXI-World. It re-airs on Satureday, June 17th at 6:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Second Opinion is made possible in part by support from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), which has been the major funder since the series’ inception in 2004.
