Follow four Polynesian high school football players in Utah as they struggle to overcome gang violence, family pressures, and poverty as they enter the high stakes world of college recruiting and the promise of pro sports. Watch On-Demand
The odds may be stacked against them, but they’ll never stop fighting for a better future. In Football We Trust, directed by Tony Vainuku and Erika Cohn, shows a new take on the pursuit of the American dream as the presence of Pacific Islander athletes in the NFL grows.

Faced with the challenges of their surroundings, In Football We Trust follows four young Polynesian men as they struggle with their new surroundings in Salt Lake City, Utah. Despite exposure to shocking gang violence and poverty, the men are able to counteract these factors through a passion for football.
The film follows four young athletes on their journey from adolescence to adulthood, and the culture shock that comes along the way. As they transition into collegiate recruitment and the real world, American soceity becomes an even more apparent barrier they must break through. However, through a great deal of perseverance, they remain dedicated to growing both on and off the field.
