America ReFramed: Reserved to Fight

America ReFramed: Reserved to Fight

Tue, 11/10/2015 - 8:00pm - 9:00pm

The Fox Company of Marine Reserve Unit 2/23 returned home from Iraq in May 2003, but their adjustment proved to be just as difficult as combat.

Reserved to Fight follows the journey of four Marines of Fox Company as they struggle to reintegrate themselves into civilian life. Their loved ones struggle to accept the change in the veterans, and they themselves cannot fully grasp their experience. Making the healing process that much more difficult, they are surrounded by media that only focus on the political aspect of war, ignoring the very human sides.

After the film, America ReFramed host Natasha del Toro, Huffington Post's Senior Military Correspondent David Wood and veteran Kristen L. Rouse discuss moral injury and the issues facing soldiers coming home from war. America ReFramed: Reserved to Fight airs on WXXI World on November 10, 2015 at 8 p.m.

This screening of America ReFramed: Reserved to Fight is also a part of VETERANS CONNECTIONS programming on WXXI-WORLD. To draw awareness to the issues of local veterans, WXXI and the Little Theatre convened a Veterans Affairs Task Force to identify the most pressing needs and issues facing veterans and their families in the Greater Rochester area and to make recommendations about ways that WXXI/Little programming and outreach can help address those needs.
