WXXI Kids offers FREE, fun and educational content, tools and events for families this summer!

Multiplatform content and activities in the community to help kids and parents learn and explore together and prevent learning loss all summer

When School's Out The Learning Doesn't Stop!

During the summer keeping kids learning and exploring helps prevent learning loss known as the “summer slide”. WXXI Kids & PBS KIDS are here to help families by focusing on literacy and learning over the summer with themed programming, online resources, video clips, episodes, apps, online games, activities and live events.

Avoid the Summer Slide

Research shows that students experience significant learning loss when they do not participate in educational activities during the summer months, and that loss is even greater among children in low-income communities. PBS KIDS and WXXI Kids along with other stations across the country are working with partners to help parents find free resources and activities to combat the summer slump. Using on-air programs, digital resources, the NYS summer reading program and community activities. WXXI and Monroe County Library System keep families learning and exploring all summer long.
