Wed, 03/04/2015 - 5:30pm - 6:00pm

Rob Mitchell of Special Olympics NY talks with us about Ending the R Word.

Rob Mitchell, Senior Director of the local chapter of Specail Olympics and part of Unified Sports, joins Homework Hotline on Wednesday, March 4 on WXXI-TV to talk about how we can all end the R word (retard or retarded) and the national campaign asking people to take the pledge to do so.

Every Wednesday Homework Hotline presents special segments dedicated to MOVE TO INCLUDE, a WXXI and Golisano Foundation initiative, designed to promote inclusion for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Through programming, Homework Hotline and the Golisano Foundation look to build a more inclusive community by inspiring and motivating people to embrace different abilities and include all people in every aspect of community life. Homework Hotline is a live statewide call-in show where kids receive help with homework problems right on the air. Designed for children in grades four through 12, the program – which is now in its 24th season – provides the tools students need to succeed with homework, and supports academic achievement across a variety of learning standards.
