1960's cultural phenomenon Chubby Checker hosts this specal PBS My Music series focusing on the most joyful dance hits of the early rock era starting with the Eisenhower era explosion of Bill Haley and Jerry Lee Lewis to the Chubby Checker with “The Twist” and the youthful frat-rock sounds of The Kingsmen. 50s & 60s Party Songs, airing Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV, is a foot-thumping, heart-beating, good-time celebration of the classic party music that has spanned generations to remain favorites through the decades.
