When School's Out The Learning Doesn't Stop! June 4th-August 17th

During the summer, WXXI Kids' helps to prevent the “summer slide” by focusing on literacy with 10 weeks of themed programming, online resources, video clips and episodes, apps, online games and activities. Each week will feature reading-related episodes from different PBS KIDS series on TV and new postings of related resources, games and apps.  Weekly downloads of FREE featured episodes will be available  from I-tunes.

Summer Learning Theme Weeks—From June 4th-August 17th:

Week of          Theme

June 4             WILD KRATTS – “Zach Attack Week”

Five episodes featuring the Kratt Brothers’ nemesis, Zach Varmitech, including the premiere of “A Huge Orange Problem”

June 11           WORDGIRL – “Tobey’s Robot Summer”

All week long WordGirl saves the day in five robotic adventures, including the premiere of “Road Rage, Anger, and Fury/ By Jove, You've Wrecked My Robots!”

June 18           ARTHUR – “Baby Kate Adventure Week”

Five episodes featuring adventures with Arthur’s baby sister Kate

June 25           CURIOUS GEORGE – “Monkey Business Week”

Five episodes featuring George working as a variety of occupations, including the premiere of “George Buys a Kite/Train of Light”

July 2              SUPER WHY! – “Royal Reading Week”

Five episodes based on royal fairytales

July 9              THE ELECTRIC COMPANY – “Prankster Planet” (Airs on WXXI-CREATE and ONLINE)

Each episode this week ends with a cliffhanger – offering a direct hand-off from the on-air story to a game that viewers can play online at pbskidsgo.org/electriccompany.

July 16            DINOSAUR TRAIN – “Gone Fishing Week”

The Pteranadon family loves to fish! This week includes 5 fishing episodes.

July 23                        MARTHA SPEAKS – “Dog Daze Week”

Five episodes with a dog’s life theme, including one all-new episode.

July 30            THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT! – “Creepy Crawley Week”

All week, the Cat, Nick and Sally explore the world of bugs.

August 6          SID THE SCIENCE KID – “Get Up & Move Week”

Sid and his friends get active in five episodes.

August 13        DINOSAUR TRAIN - "Big Big Dinosaur Week"

4 New episodes introduce you to some of the biggest dinosaurs!
