Host Peter DuBois visits the archives, rediscovering early broadcasts by the show's original creator, the late Richard Gladwell.

Throughout the month of August, With Heart and Voice will air retrospective programs from Richard Gladwell’s tenure as program host.  Current program host Peter DuBois will introduce each of these programs.

On Sunday, August 14 at 8 a.m. and again at 7 p.m. on Classical 91.5/FM-HD 91.5-1 DuBois shares Gladwell's October, 2000 show entitled "Music for Lutherans," featuring works by Reformation composers who were inspired by the theology - and the music - of Martin Luther.

Upcoming retrospective shows include:

 • Hoiby, Mundy, Staromieyski (April 1990), airing Sunday, August 21

 • Music of French Composers (April 1990), airing Sunday, August 28

With Heart and Voice presents sacred music that spans the full range of Western classical music, from the Gothic period through the 21st century, with occasional surprises from the non-western tradition. The program, hosted by Peter DuBois, celebrates the seasons of the liturgical year and focuses on the richness and beauty of sacred music. With Heart and Voice began as a local Sunday morning program on WXXI-FM in 1975, and has been broadcast nationally since 1989.
