Capitol Steps Halloween edition of "Politics Takes a Holiday"
Fri, 10/29/2010 - 1:00pm
Get in the Halloween spirit with two spooky new radio specials.
AM 1370/FM-HD91.5-2 broadcasts two Halloween specials on Friday, October 29 beginning at 1 p.m. with Capitol Steps Halloween edition of "Politics Takes a Holiday." The comedy troupe Capitol Steps believes that the Nation's political climate is pretty scary, but it's comforting to know that you can laugh at your fears. Capitol Steps Halloween edition of "Politics Takes a Holiday,"musically skewers everything left, right and wrong with the country today! The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. Since they began, the Capitol Steps have recorded 29 albums, including their latest, Obama Mia.
Immediately following the Capitol Steps special, AM 1370/FM-HD91.5-2 presents The Horror of it All at 1:30 p.m. and again at 11:30 p.m. The Horror of it All explores why people get so much pleasure from movies that frighten them. Expert Stephen Prince says horror films allow us to explore the anxieties of our times along with questions about human nature, all from the safety of a darkened movie theater. The program also talks with science fiction writer John Rosenman, who says the genre has come a long way since the early days of Buck Rogers.
