WXXI Brings Super Why to the Rose Festival
WXXI Brings Super Why to the Rose Festival
Sat, 06/19/2010 - 10:00am - Sun, 06/20/2010 - 5:00pm
Super Why is coming to the Maplewood Rose Weekend Festival "Celebrating Literacy".
Join fellow super readers at the WXXI booth for a Super Why literacy celebration on June 19 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) and June 20 (11 a.m.-5 p.m.) at the Maplewood Rose Garden in Rochester (on the corner of Lake & Driving Park Avenues). Bring your camera and take a super snapshot with Super Why and participate in super duper hands-on Super Why reading activities. Families can create a Super You Super Reader badge, Super Reader Superhero masks, Magic Spelling Wands, bookmarks, and other Super Why crafts. Be sure to check out a Super Why episode screening and enter the daily Super Why giveaway!
With a breakthrough interactive approach to reading education, classic fairytales with an innovative preschool twist and colorful and empowering young heroes, Super Why is the only preschool property created to help kids learn the fundamentals of reading through interactive storybook adventures. The series focuses on the adventures of four fairytale friends who transform into reading-powered superheroes, known as the "Super Readers". In each fantastical episode, the Super Readers jump into books (literally) to find answers to everyday preschool challenges and embark on exciting adventures, where they play interactive reading games to overcome obstacles and save the day.
