The Idyllwild Performing Arts Center home of the Idyllwild Arts Academy (June 5)

This month we'll visit the design winning (Sander Architects) Idyllwild Performing Arts Center which incorporates a complex with two theaters, lobby, gallery, café/bookstore, practice rooms, offices and classrooms - all available to the talented students of the Idyllwild Arts Academy.

6/5       From Idyllwild Arts Academy we’ll hear amazing performances and inspiring stories from some of America’s best young classical musicians. Performers and repertoire to be announced

6/13      From our home in Boston, we’ll feature an alum who’s gone on to be the first American pianist since 1966 to win the Silver Medal at the famous International Tchaikovsky Competition. Also we meet a pianist who’s just nine years old who not only performs the music of Rachmaninoff with authority–she also happens to have been an international chess champion.

6/20      From New York City, we’ll feature amazing performances and inspiring stories from some of America’s best young classical musicians.  Performers and repertoire to be announced

6/27      From Orono, Maine, violinist, educator, and composer Mark O’Connor brings his signature American fiddle sound to some exciting collaborations with the young performers on the show. We’ll also hear the inspirational story of how studying music helped the young cellist on the program overcome major physical coordination challenges.
