7/6 From Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa, California, you'll hear the beautiful andante from the Rachmoninoff Cello Sonata performed by a 16-year-old from San Francisco, a Buxtehude praeludium played by a teenage organist, a 14-year-old pianist plays Stravinsky, and an award-winning choir sings pieces by Samuel Barber and Eric Whitacre.
7/13 From the Bing Concert Hall at Stanford University you’ll meet a teenage violinist who will solo and then perform with two From the Top Alumni who are currently studying at Stanford, the San Francisco Girls Chorus who perform an arrangement of Joni Mitchell’s “The Pirate of Penance” and Christopher O'Riley joins the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and conductor Jindong Cai to perform the Presto from Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G.
7/20 From Chattanooga, Tennessee, we’ll hear an uproarious performance of the music of Japanese composer/pianist Hiromi Uehara, performed by a 14-year-old girl from nearby Maryville, Tennessee, a young singer who has raised over $14,000 for arts programs at the local schools and a local teenage guitar quartet serenades us with a classical arrangement of an Appalachian folk song.
