For centuries humanity has struggled with mortality & immortality.  Bill McGlaughlin explores how composers dealt with the issue during the week of July 20th.

This month on Exploring Music we will look at 20th century American conductors, Parisian composers like Debussy, myths and tales of mortals and immortals, and we'll finish up with a biography of Maurice Ravel.

Week of July 6, 2015 - Maestro, Part II - The second in a series highlighting American conductors who shaped American music-making in the mid-20th century.

Week of July 13, 2015 - Sounds of the City of Light - Music in Paris from Berlioz to Debussy, from 1830 to the early 1900s.

Week of July 20, 2015 - Hit or Myth - The gods must be crazy! This week, we’ll survey the trials and tribulations of mortals and immortals, brought to life by the likes of Berlioz, Gluck, Handel and more.

Week of July 27, 2015 - Ravel - A five-part biography on Maurice Ravel.
