Week of December 7, 2015 - Hector Berlioz   A five-part biography on the life of Hector Berlioz. As one of the developers of the symphonic form, Hector Berlioz lived a life full of drama and color. Born in France to parents with plans for him to become a doctor, he pursued everything but medicine. He wrote: “Beethoven opened before me a new world of music, as Shakespeare had revealed a new universe of poetry.” Join us in this amazing journey following the life of Hector Berlioz.

Week of December 14, 2015 - Ninth Symphonies  Why did so many of music’s great symphonists die after completing their Ninth Symphony? We’ll sample five landmark compositions: the Ninth symphonies of Beethoven, Schubert, Bruckner, Dvorak and Mahler.
