This month on Exploring Music: a celebration of the optimism springtime brings, a close look at the structure of a symphony, music from composers whose lives were affected by the Iron Curtin, and informatinon about the life and the music of Sergei Prokofiev. 

Week of April 6, 2015 – Spring - Spring is here - at last!  As the thermometer creeps above freezing, we’ll celebrate optimism, hope and rebirth through music.  This week features Mahler, Haydn, Respighi and more.

Week of April 13, 2015 - Under the Hood, Part I - How’s this thing work?  For some people, the mechanics of a symphony are as unfathomable as the engine of an automobile is to others.  Join us as we take a closer look at the nuts and bolts of works by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius.

Week of April 20, 2015 - Voices from the East - This week, Bill explores the music of composers who struggled for artistic freedom on both sides of the Iron Curtain, including Arvo Pärt, Sofia Gubaidulina, György Ligeti, and Giya Kancheli.
