Chasing the Moon Sneak Peek Screening & Discussion

Mon, 07/01/2019 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Join WXXI for a free preview screening, followed by a panel discussion.

Chasing the Moon, a film by Robert Stone, reimagines the race to the moon for a new generation, upending much of the conventional mythology surrounding the effort. The series recasts the Space Age as a fascinating stew of scientific innovation, political calculation, media spectacle, visionary impulses and personal drama. See a sneak peek of this three-part series on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Little Theatre (240 East Avenue) in Little Theatre 2. (On Winthrop Street behind the historic Theatre.) It will be followed by panel discussion. This event is free and open to the public. Seats are first come, first served.

Randy Gorbman, WXXI News Director will be on hand to share some of the region's local stories connected to the 50th anniversary.

Panelists include:

Arthur Cosgrove, a Kodak engineer who worked on the Lunar Orbiter Mission in the late 60s that took pictures of the surface of the moon.

Steve Fentress, the Director of our Strasenburgh Planetarium
