Need to Know Rochester

As we enter our new fiscal year, I would like to thank everybody who stepped up and made membership pledges during our year-end campaign. Whether they were additional gifts or new memberships, the outpouring of support in helping us try to bridge our budget showed how important public media is to this community.

The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival is underway — and with it WXXI's extensive jazz programming and events. WXXI will film three Jazz Festival performances at Kilbourn Hall as part of its Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival series.

There was a news story that escaped many people's attention recently. Need to Know Rochester focused a special presentation on the plight of African-American male students in the Rochester City School District.

If you were among the more than 2,500 people who attended WXXI’s Open House on Saturday, October 2nd, thank you for coming and I hope you enjoyed your visit.  We had a great turnout, with a line outside the door an hour before we opened, and a steady stream of visitors throughout the day.
