Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year and all good wishes to you

On Wednesday, December 25th, it's my pleasure to present WXXI’s annual Christmas morning special from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m.

I inherited the privilege from my late colleague and friend Richard Gladwell, who for decades, poured himself into crafting a beautiful playlist every Christmas morning. He was such an inspiration!

Mornings this week on Classical 91.5

The holidays can feel like one giant To Do List, so I'm truly grateful for the calm beauty of music first thing in the morning, aren't you?

Gift ideas for your favorite music lover

Santa’s helpers have been busy creating gifts for all the musicians on your list.    For the little violinist, Barbie now comes ready to play her favorite Paganini Caprice.

Songs of Hope

I was totally inspired to meet and talk with Rochester home health aide Hope Dukie. She’s developed a unique personal ministry among the sickest and neediest among us.  Click the sound file below ("hopefeature.mp3") to hear her talk and sing.  (Our complete conversation will be available as a podcast soon at wxxi.org.)

Highlights for mornings this week on Classical 91.5

Brenda Tremblay presents inspiring classical music, recent performances by Rochester artists, and highlights from concert halls around the globe.  Plus interviews, classical music news, features, and the latest headlines.

The daily Mystery Piece airs at 6:40 am

An amazing woman, a fish without a bicycle

It's lovely to spend mornings with you, listening to great recordings from the WXXI library, NPR news, arts features, and . . .

Music History at Mach 5

It's not in English, but you'll still enjoy.

Be Mine

Classical 91.5 listener Jeff Miller found this black valentine in an antique store a couple of years ago and says he couldn't resist, "For that special someone!"  It's a Hallmark card. Look at the signature. Jeff isn't sure if it was part of the original card or hand written.  What do you think?

Go Ravens!

If you don’t know much about football (that would be me) or fine wine (me, neither), a handy rule of thumb is to automatically root for the team named for a bird or buy the bottle with the bird on the label.   Let’s cheer the Ravens in the Superbowl!
