Backstage Pass host Julia Figueras welcomes the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and their music director Dr. David Harman to WXXI's studios on Friday, November 11 at 1 p.m. on Classical 91.5/FM-HD 91.5-1.The orchestra will perform, and Figueras will chat with Dr. Harman, RPO mentors Rebecca Gilbert and Wilfredo Deglans, and a member of the orchestra.

The Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (RPYO) is a symphony orchestra comprised of young musicians in grades eight through 12 from schools throughout the greater Rochester area. The RPYO is sponsored by the Education Department of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra whose musicians serve as mentors and coaches to the RPYO and join them in the annual Side-by-Side concert in Eastman Theatre.

Backstage Pass is a live, hour-long radio series that is committed to highlighting performing artists – giving Classical 91.5/90.3/FM-HD 91.5-1 listeners the opportunity to hear local and visiting musicians performing live. The series is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation.
