Accounts Payable Specialist

                                                            JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION:                      Accounts Payable Specialist

DIVISION:                       Business Affairs Division

CLASSIFICATION:            Full-time, Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:                    Payroll & Benefit Manager

DUTIES:

  1. Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, paper inventory integrity, general & entity accounting, . Responsible for the total processing of accounts payable in general ledger, including timely entry and payment of invoices and reconcile accounts payable subsidiary to general ledger.
  2. Reconcile bank accounts and prepare monthly journal entries for review.
  3. Prepare 1099-Misc forms and preparation for filing for WXXI group.
  4. Process credit applications, W-9 requests and sales tax exemptions.
  5. Preparation of sales tax for quarterly submission for both WXXI group.
  6. Maintain and order station inventory of computer paper and various accounting forms.
  7. Assist with the preparation of bank deposits.
  8. Maintain and reconcile prepaid expense account and employee advance expense account
  9. Assist with preparation of annual audit and various tax and other external reports.
  10. Assist in preparation of occupancy and debt service budgets.
  11. Assist with other divisional duties.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of Associates degree in accounting required.

 

EXPERIENCE:  One year of related experience preferred.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:                                 

  • Familiarity with general ledger systems, spreadsheets (Excel), general computer literacy. 
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Accuracy in work.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, creative thinker and solution driven.
