Celebrating 50 Years of Public Television

This year marks WXXI’s 50th Anniversary serving as the essential, life-long educational public media resource for the greater Rochester area. On September 6th, 1966 WXXI-TV launched its first broadcast and for the five decades since has been the choice in quality programming that stimulates thought, inspires the spirit and expands cultural horizons.

We invite you to join us as we celebrate 50 years of phenomenal public media services, and look ahead to what we can achieve together in the next 50 years.
