Hour 1
Christine Deska, Senior Program Specialist at AARP NY
Phil Shippers, Director of Meals on Wheels Program
AARP is helping 74% of seniors in Monroe and Wayne Counties who are eligible for, but not receiving food assistance. Officials will identify the barriers facing seniors in our area and will discuss how to remove those barriers.
Hour 2
Jim Laughren gives witty and interesting discussion (on ABC and CBS) on the history of the beers for Oktoberfest among other Fall festivals and is giving some unique commentary on the varietals of beer and why the festivals ever started hundreds of years ago. Also, he adds in how to compare beer to wine, in case you want to be in the “beer fest” spirit but prefer wine. Laughren is a Beer and Certified Wine Educator, Spanish Wine Educator and President of WineHead Consulting, and has spent decades enjoying, purchasing, importing and distributing wine and educating consumers and businesses about the basic and finer aspects of wine selection and enjoyment.
