WordGirl premiered with rave reviews on PBS KIDS GO! in September 2007. The series chronicles the madcap adventures of Becky Botsford, a mild-mannered 10 year old who, at the call of duty, transforms into WordGirl – caped crusader and definition dynamo! With the help of her faithful monkey sidekick, Captain Huggy Face, WordGirl spends each episode defeating a quirky cast of villains – from Dr. Two-Brains to The Butcher – combining her power punches with some pretty impressive words. The goal of the series is to teach kids new vocabulary in a fun and humorous way.
