Union Station - Live
From the Louisville Palace in Louisville, Kentucky, Alison Krauss & Union Station - Live, airing Wednesday, March 14 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV 21 (cable 11), features Barry Bales, Ron Block, Jerry Douglas, Alison Krauss and Dan Tyminski performing their best-known hits, including "Forget About It" and "When You Say Nothing At All."Krauss grew up in Champaign, Ill., where her parents encouraged her to play instruments at an early age. Soon after taking up the violin, Krauss discovered fiddle contests and bluegrass festivals. She earned her initial acclaim as a teenage instrumentalist, but soon it was her voice that captivated everyone’s attention. She’s now become a true crossover artist, appealing to a wide range of audiences.
To date, Alison Krauss has earned 17 Grammy Awards and multiple Country Music Association Awards, International Bluegrass Music Awards and countless others. Her album releases have been both critical and commercial successes, with multiple platinum and gold certified records and more than 7 million albums sold. Alison recorded three songs for the blockbuster feature-film soundtrack O Brother, Where Art Thou? And in that film Union Station member Dan Tyminski sang (for actor George Clooney) the Soggy Bottom Boys’ hit "Man of Constant Sorrow" – also featured in this live concert.
Songs include:
"Forget About It"
"Let Me Touch You For a While"
"Ghost in This House"
"I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow"
"When You Say Nothing at All"
"The Lucky One"
"Baby Now That I’ve Found You"
…and more
