About the WRUR-FM 88.5 & WXXI Partnership:

WXXI and WRUR University of Rochester joined forces to strengthen both their services. The partnership has enabled AM 1370 to simulcast local and national programming on FM 88.5, helping to fill open airtime on FM 88.5. It also offers an opportunity for WXXI-AM, Rochester’s only NPR station, to broadcast on an FM frequency and reach people who may have difficulty accessing the AM signal, especially at times when AM 1370 must “change pattern” at night to avoid interference with other stations. NPR is currently simulcast on WRUR 88.5 and AM 1370 Monday.-Friday 5am-9am and 4pm-6pm.

WRUR-FM 88.5 is owned by University of Rochester Broadcasting Corporation and operated by the students of the university on a volunteer basis. The station continues to operate from its facility at the University of Rochester’s Todd Union building. Its format remains the same offering a diverse mix of musical styles, from hip-hop to classical.
