prosecutor for western New York, Rochester city court judge and
as Monroe county court judge.-
In my many years on the bench I discovered there no Magic form

in the legal system.-

County court judges are responsible for the trial of serious
felony matters, including rape, robbery and murder that occur
in Monroe county.-
A county court judge has responsibility for appeals of both
criminal and civil decisions from local courts.-

cases.-

courts.-

Upon row county court has the most Sirius and complex cases in
our community including murder, robbery and narcotics
trafficking.-
On November 2 the community will elect two of the six judges
and I'm asking for your judge.-
Judicial ethics prohibit judges from taking positions on the
important issues of the day that we may remain partial and open
minded in the matters that come before us.-
We can however inform voters of our experience and
qualification which can provide insight as to how we discharge
our duties.-
For the past 20 years I have served as assistant district
attorney, munal prosecutor, trial lawyer and currently as a
sitting juveraget the majority of my 20 years has been within
the criminal justice system.-

-
>> John con many is an incumbent county court judge.-
He is running on the democratic, independence, conservative and
working families party line.-
He is 57 years old.-
-
>> Good afternoon.-
I'm John Connell.-
Since may of 1984 I have been your Monroe county court judge.-
I was elected in November of 1984 and re-elected in 1994.-
I'm now seeking a third 10-year term.-
In considering for whom to vote it important to understand what
county court is and what it is not.-
It is not a town justice court in which minor crimes and
traffic violations are decided.-
It is a felony transmittal court where the most serious case
are heard.-
As you may recall I presided over the first death penalty trial
this Monday recounty in nearly 50 years, you may not be aware
however that I have also been the trial judge in more than 60
homicide cases nearly 400 felony trials of which more than 200
have been violent case.-
I'm the only candidate running for Monroe county court judge
who has received the highest rating from both the Monroe county
bar association and the greater Rochester association for women
attorneys.-
I'm endorsed by the Monroe county law enforcement association,
the deputies who actually work in the court.-
I'm endorsed by the Monroe county P.B.A. which is made up of
police unions from the Rochester police department, towns of
Irondequoit, Webster, Greece, Brighton to name a few.-
I'm proud to have received the endorsement of the Rochester
labor counsel and united auto works.-
The essence of being a judge is the ability to be decisive and
resolve cases in a fair and impartial manner.-
The support and endorsements I have received from a broad cross
section of community is a testament, I believe, to my
reputation of fairness and impartiality.-
That is leading me to be endorsed by four political parties,
democratic party, kesk active independence party and working
families party.-
Please cast your vote to keep judge Connell your county court
judge.-
Thank you very much.-
-
>> The office of the county clerk oversees the filing reporting
and storage of official documents including deeds, mortgages,
civil and criminal court action judgments and liens.-
They also ham many types of legal papers such as driver's or
fishing licenses or passports much the participating candidates
are CHERYL DINOLFO and Robert cook.-
The order of the appearance was determined by a coin Flynn.-
Robert cook is the democratic and working families party
candidate.-
He is council for the New York state assembly transportation
committee.-
He is 47 years old.-
-
>> I'm Bob cook candidate for Monroe county clerk.-
Most people don't know what the clerk's office does and many
who are wear thing it is about fishing license and passports.-
The clerk's office has a direct roll this river day live from
generating revenue to protecting public records.-
I have a concrete plan to improve customer satisfaction, make
the office more efficient.-
To this end my first act will be to reopen a full service
downtown motor vehicle bureau something my opponent refuses to
do.-
Since the office closed last year some 50,000 downtown workers
and more than 200,000 city residents have been denied equal
access to the motor vehicle services and waits of two to three
hours at the suburban offices.-
That is unacceptable.-
Despite this, the interim clerk has done nothing to protect
your public records from identity thieves.-
I will conduct a top to bottom analysis of these records'
vulnerability to theft and take immediate action to keep your
private information out of the hands of thieves.-
I will be an independent voice for fiscal responsibility and
accountability.-
Unlike my opponent I will fight efforts to reduce public review
at the county budget.-
My experience makes me uniquely qualified for this office.-
Unlike my opponent I have nearly 20 careers of public service
experience including managing four different government
offices.-
I currently serve as counsel to the state assembly
transportation committee.-
Before that I had years of Monroe county experience serving as
real estate manager and counsel to the county legislature.-
A life long county resident I grew up in Greece and Henrietta.-
My wife and I are now raising our two children this the city.-
I look forward to putting my experience to work for you as
county clerk.-
I will shorten the D.M.V. wait time protect records from
identity theft and improve customer service.-
I ask for your vote on election day.-
CHERYL DINOLFO is the Republican independence and conservative
party.-
She has held the post since being apoisoned in April.-
She is 43 years old.-
-
>> I'm Monroe county clerk CHERYL DINOLFO.-
It has been an honor to serve our community the last six month
and I have enjoyed the opportunity.-
Today I ask each of you for your vote on election day so we can
continue the good work we have started for years to come.-
Since I took office I have had two goals.-
Improve customer service and increase the surplus the clerk
returns taxpayers.-
I'm proud to say we are achieving those goals.-
We are adding 4 1/2 million pages of it documents making public
records more accessible.-
We have taken action to protect victims of domestic violence
from further abuse or harm which has received a tremendous
response from the law enforcement community.-
To give back to those that defended us I partnered with the
veterans separation to provide job training.-
We have extended hours at the popular mobile D.M.V. unit
including the metro mobile unit providing services five days a
week in the city of Rochester.-
By enhancing the mobile units we have reduced wait times at the
D.M.V. branches by over 10%.-
We have accomplished all of this while ensuring our taxpayers
receive a record $1.7 million surplus year, vital dollars to
keep taxes low.-
These successes illustrate my record of accomplishment and with
a full term I will do more.-
I will partner closely with the great county executive to keep
government spending down and create new jobs.-
I will always put your interests first.-
Because I believe that the taxpayer comes first and that good
government is about result, not promises.-
I'm proud to say I have delivered these results and I would be
grateful to earn your vote on election day.-
Thank you and God bless you and our entire community.-
-
>> The Monroe county legislature's third district covers much
of climb lie.-
The candidates are running for one-year term since the
incumbent left four-year term before it expired.-
The participating free air time candidates are MARY VALERIO and
AMY CAMPBELL.-
The order of the candidates' appearance was determined by a
coin toss.-
MARY VALERIO was appointed to serve as legislator in January
and is now seeking election on the Republican, independence and
conservative party lines.-
She is 51 years old.-
-
>> My name is MARY VALERIO and I'm proud to represent most of
the town of Chili and Monroe county legislator.-
As a life long resident of Chili as a teacher and parent I
understand the concerns facing families in our community.-
My top priority is to keep taxes low so that our community
remains affordable for working families seniors and small
businesses.-
In this time of tight budget and increasing unfunded mandates
we cannot afford business as usual in Monroe county.-
Chili taxpayers, you can count on me to stand with Maggie
brooks in our fight to streamline county government to control
government spending.-
I never voted to raise your taxes.-
We can't afford to increase the burden on taxpayers.-
We need take more innovative approach taking advantage of
technology, expanding private sector partnerships, increasing
grant funding opportunities and implementing management
improvements to deliver services more cost effectively.-
As your legislator I have authored legislation it provide back
to school relief for families and helped lead the fight to
combat welfare proud, waste and abuse.-
To create jobs I support effort to refocus county economic
development initiatives, promote the creation and growth of
small businesses.-
In our modern economy it is increasingly clear that small
businesses are vital to economic expansion and job creation.-
I'm MARY VALERIO and I ask for your support on November 2 to
protect taxpayers and keep Monroe county moving forward.-
Thank you.-
-
>> AMY CAMPBELL is a senior instructor at university of
Rochester medical center.-
She is running on the democratic and working families party
lines.-
She is 33 years old.-
-
>> Hi, I'm AMY CAMPBELL.-
For too long county government has operated for the benefit of
clear politicians rather than citizens -- career politicians.-
The disfunction is plain.-
We are forced to pay big tax increases yet the budget deficits
continue to increase.-
We have a county administration that talks about economic
development and jobs continue to disappear.-
Partisan politics block any real effort to make changes.-
Many of the leaders have forgotten a county government belongs
to you, not them.-
High taxes, lost jobs, lost opportunities, political gain.-
This must change.-
As the representative I will make sure your voice is heard.-
I will fight for responsible fiscal responsibility and call for
an open and honest budget process.-
I will work to make county government more efficient and
responsive to you, the taxpayers who foot the bill whole
delivering services our children and senior citizens need.-
I believe we can achieve that.-
To do it I need your hope.-
On November 2 I need your vote and support.-
Together we can change county government and begin the job of
rebuilding our economy.-
The best days doctor our community are ahead.-
Let's get started.-
-
>> The ninth district includes much of Penfield.-
The candidates are seeking election for a one-year turn to
complete an unexpired term.-
The participating free air time candidate is MEL CALLAN.-
MEL CALLAN is a family nurse practicer, a democratic and
working families candidate.-
She is 53 years old.-
-
>> Hello.-
I'm MEL CALLAN.-
I'm family nurse practitioner and my love for nursing spans
over 32 years.-
My husband and I have four children.-
I'm running for county legislature because I believe we need
change in leadership from those that brought us the 13% tax
hike last year.-
I will work for fiscal responsibility to create jobs and
support education.-
This has been a decade of dysfunction and deception much the
33% sales tax increase in Annandale 93 generated over $48,000.-
Where has it gone?-
The county has $-- to Mick matters worse the Republican
majority wants to remanufacture their accountability by
delaying the budget proposal until after election day.-
Under false pretense they are trying to hide another big tax
increase.-
This spin and deception is no longer tolerable.-
I support county executive Maggie brooks and her promise not
raise taxes and not to cut services.-
I believe it can succeed with my plan which includes one
support for prescription drug plan to purchase medications from
Canada.-
A savings of millions for the county and family budget.-
Two, reducing the reliance on for profit consulting agencies.-
Three, renegotiate the lease to lighten the burden to
taxpayers.-
Four, reducing the size of certain departments and number of
senior level physicians.-
Most importantly, expand economic development opportunities and
create jobs to increase tax base.-
We must focus on the resource and manufacturing fuel cells,
biotechnology.-
We shall home to a great lake, major airport and rail system.-
With the potential to become a transportation hub.-
We have business leaders this care about our community and
contribute their resources to make economic development work.-
You need a legislature that will work with them.-
My opponent is part of Republican majority that brought us in
this criffs.-
I will be part of the new team that will lead us out of it.-
-
>> The Monday crow county legislator's 12th district has parts
of Mendon, Pittsford, rush and wheat land.-
They are running for a one-year term the participating free air
time candidate is Michael RADIGAN.-
Michael RADIGAN is a manager for Xerox.-
He is endorsed by the democratic and working families party.-
He is 57 years old.-
-
>> My name is mike RADIGAN.-
I'm a candidate for the Monroe county legislature representing
Mendon, rush, wheatland and part of Pittsford of I have been a
resident of Pittsford almost 20 years.-
I working for xerox and I have never run for public office
before.-
Over the last several years it has become obvious that Monroe
county is on the wrong track.-
We are losing jobs, population is declining and our young
people are finding it difficult to obtain employment locally.-
Taxes are rising, county property tax rose about 13% last
year.-
Both town and school taxes rising, the process of attracting
new employers is dim.-
The budget has been balanced using gimmicks often raise cost
over time.-
This year the Republican majority even proposed that the 2005
budget be presented after the election.-
With the help of several Rochester immediate why companies and
democratic minority that attempt to hide the budget from the
people appears to have been defeated this year.-
Meanwhile, proposals about by the democratic minority are
regularly set aside.-
A recent proposal requested study be done to assess the
potential savings from obtaining medication from Canada.-
This with cover county employees, retirees, Medicaid recipient
and could save the county eight to 16 million dollars.-
This study has been set aside by the Republican majority.-
With the county in difficulty now is not the time for partisan
games.-
We need act together to return our community it financial
health.-
It obvious we must take a new approach.-
Not politics as usual for the sake of Monroe county and our
sake.-
It timor accountability.-
Time for change.-
Learn minister about me go WWW.mike RADIGAN.com.-
I would be honored to be your voice in the legislature.-
