A Note About Streaming Quality and Service (updated May 2, 2008):

WXXI is proud to provide free high-quality streamed audio to its listeners on the Internet. People from all over the world are tuning in. However as word continues to spread about our service, is increasingly difficult to accommodate all those who wish to listen while continuing to provide the high-quality experience that our listeners expect. WXXI has recently taken its online multimedia capabilities to a new level, enabling a greater capacity for streaming audio. However as demand continues to grow, we still need to set appropriate limits to the number of listeners that sign on to the service at one time and the duration for which they may be connected. Thank you for your patience as we continually evaluate the service and make further upgrades in the future.
