One hundred 15-24 year olds from the Greater Rochester area participated in a film project encourgaging them to share, through video, the issues they face as emerging adults. WXXI and the University of Rochester Medical Center partnered with The Roadwork For Success In Young Adulthood to bring this national outreach effort. called Raising 100,000 Voices, to Rochester. These young Rochesterians were given disposable digital cameras in November and asked to produce 3-minute documentaries. Topics included: teen violence, depression, living with diabetes, a young man born addicted to crack, and body image. These videos are very insightful -- offering a glimpse into the lives of our teens. We received 36 videos for this screening event. |
Raising 100,000 Voices project for 2007/2008 is funded in part by a grant from the Marie C. & Joseph C. Wilson Foundation.
