What are WXXI Adult Literacy Student Services?
Adults age 21 and over can watch television programs and study at home
to acquire basic reading and math skills and prepare to take the GED examination
to achieve a high school equivalency diploma. Programs include, Crossroads Cafe, Learn to Read, and GED Connections.
Workbooks and the services of a telephone teacher are available for all
these series. To enroll in the GED Connections
program call the WXXI Education Department at (585) 258-0278. WXXI's GED
Connections is free and confidential. We will connect you with our 10
partner agencies. You can choose to call anyone of them where you choose

411 focuses on real-life strategies for improving reading, writing,
and math skills for daily life and jobs.

designed for adult new readers.

is an English language instruction program for speakers of other languages.

Connect with English
is for adults learning English as a second language. Also
available streamed over the web.
FRIDAYS 5:30-6:00 a.m.: TV 411
TV 411 discusses practical strategies to improve reading writing and math skills (30/30 minute programs) .
Those students with
access to VCR are free to record the programs for viewing at their convenience.
