(Rochester, NY) – Classical 91.5 presents a special broadcast in honor of Jean-Yves Thibaudet, one of the best and most sought-after pianist in the world today. Jean-Yves Thibaudet, airing Tuesday, September 7 at 12 noon on Classical 91.5/FM-HD91.5-1, celebrates the performer's 49th birthday with music by some of America's greatest composers who changed the face of piano -- and music -- forever.
Thibaudet's virtuosity, charisma and amazing performances have enthralled audiences for years. He began studying the piano at age five at the Lyons Conservatory, and made his first public appearance at the age of seven. He studied with Aldo Ciccolini and Lucette Descaves at the Paris Conservatory.
He has performed with most of the world's leading symphonic orchestras, and has collaborated and recorded with soprano Renée Fleming; mezzo-soprano, Cecilia Bartoli and Angelika Kirchschlager; cellists Truls Mørk and violist Yuri Bashmet.
