Friday, December 24 at 11 p.m. – A Rochester Festival of Lights
(Rochester, NY) – The Festival of Lessons and Carols has been a Christmas Eve tradition for over a half-century at Rochester’s Third Presbyterian Church, and a broadcast tradition for Classical 91.5. This year, WXXI presents highlights from the past five years of live Christmas Eve broadcasts. A Festival of Lessons and Carols airs Friday, December 24 at 11 p.m. on Classical 91.5/FM-HD91.5-1.
The Christmas story is told in words and music in a service that has been made famous by the choir of King's College, Cambridge. They'll perform David Hogan's Magnificat and Morten Lauridsen's O Nata Lux. The program also includes music by Rochester composers Cary Ratcliff and Carson Cooman.
