Tuesday, December 21 at 12 p.m. – Christmas with Madrigalia 2010: The Light of World
(Rochester, NY) – Music Director Lee Wright leads Madrigalia in selections celebrating the Light of the World. Christmas with Madrigalia 2010: The Light of the World, airing Tuesday, December 21 at 12 p.m. and Friday, December 24 at 4 p.m. on Classical 91.5/FM-HD 91.5-1, presents a varied program including music for Advent, Christmas and Winter. The holiday show also includes a performance by the winner of the 2008 National Competition of the American Guild of Organists, Michael Unger.
Founded in 1975, Madrigalia has built an extensive repertoire encompassing traditional and contemporary styles of secular and sacred choral literature from the Renaissance through the twenty-first century. The eighteen-member ensemble uses choral music as a powerful tool to communicate humor, sorrow, prayer, meditation, celebration and remembrance.
